overview | The Southern California Experimental Amateur Radio Association (SCEARA) was founded in 1988 to pioneer digital communications on amateur radio. |
membership | Active, technically advanced amateurs are always welcome to join SCEARA. Membership is by approval of any two of the current membership. Dues are $100 per year and include unconstrained access to the SCEARA voice repeater located near Mount Wilson in the San Gabriel Mountains and providing broad coverage throughout the greater Los Angeles and Orange metroplexes. |
facilities | Three primary facilities provide both voice and digital communications to amateurs throughout Southern California. SCEARA concentrates its operations on the amateur 144MHz, 440MHz, 902MHz, 1260MHz, 2400MHz and 5700MHz bands. Special operations are conducted on an as needed basis on HF and 10GHz and 24 GHz. |
activities | As the membership is heavily involved in their own private lives, there is minimal group activity except when an active project is in process. |
bylaws | The bylaws of the organization. |
